The building looks great indoors and out, but so many of the homes have leaking issues, which really raises your electric bill.

The roof deck is sick and having Club H and the path downstairs is also really convenient with great views.

I'm a single 29 year old guy who moved from NYC to get more for less, 50 is great, but a one bedroom costing $200 plus a month for electric is too much .

Either way no matter how much I complain I'm still here because of the lifestyle and conveniences.

From one New Yorker to another, how bad is it over there?

    LOL.

Look, it's not NYC. In some ways it's actually better and some ways it's not.

The nightlife here isn't great, however the food is good and every where delivers. If you like the bar scene Hoboken is right down the block. If you like the clubber scene, there's nothing.

The PATH is right down stairs, and the PATH is awesome during business hours, but late night travel can be a pain because the trains run less frequently.

This part of the city is clean and safe from what I've experienced.

All in all I get a whole lot more for less, I couldn't have afforded a luxury building, with a movie theater, pool, hot tub billiards room, yadda yadda. For me it was right and the transition isn't bad at all, you have to remember NYC is just a few mi***es away.

I'm kinda in a similar situation.

I live on the Upper West Side, but work in downtown.

I'm spending $2200/m now for my small and kinda old one bedroom. I've been asking myself why for a while now.

You make some good points, but I'm not sure I'm ready yet?

Don't fear what you don't understand.....

You sound a little like your move is inevitable so why not just move now? Rents are low and promotions in JC are at an all time high, I think 50 is giving out decent promo's and their not the only ones.

That's probably the best avatar of all time, downtown!

Welcome to Locally Located, we look forward to your contributions.

I will do some checking around for current promos and pricing soon.

    Thanks Mr. Admin.

I'm digging the site, it's very rare you get to join a community so early in it's existence. I've been a long time Gold Coast resident, currently residing in Jersey City and always wondered why there wasn't a all real estate related kinda site, given the amount of attention the topic is given in our area.

As far as the great Jean Claude Van Damme, well what really needs to said? Is he not the greatest entertainer of all time?
