I don't understand what happened?

I haven't been able to locate any details, but Matt is well known and a well liked attorney in Hoboken.

I personally referred him business and this comes as a major surprise to me and my colleagues.

Does anyone have details on this?

A Hoboken lawyer was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday for stealing over $1.5 million from a client's money that was deposited in his attorney's trust account, as reported by The Jersey Journal's Michaelangelo Conte in today's editions.

Matthew Connolly, of Secaucus, was sentenced after having pleaded guilty earlier this year in March. The stolen money was discovered by the New Jersey Supreme Court's Attorney Ethics Board. He admitted to mishandling the funds and surrendered his law license.

Attorney's are and always will be living on the fence whens it comes to morals, it's part of the job.

I believe he was the a former city prosecutor

Also, Christoper Campos. Esq. worked with Mathew Connolly. Connolly was known to some to be a political insider and was a supporter of the old corruption (Cammarano), this shouldn't come as a big surprise that he "misappropriated funds".

Yeah right, this is Hudson County.

Some changes have come, but even the new bright and shiny politicos like our new mayor and councilman Fulop over in our little sister city, Jersey City all have or will succumb to the old ways. It's only a matter of time.
